OZ signs Ready Player Me to its all-star avatar line up!
OZ has today announced a new partnership with Wolf3D to integrate the Ready Player Me avatars with the OZ experience. This follows on from OZ’s integration of Snap’s Bitmoji avatars earlier this year, and is another step towards offering users unlimited freedom of expression in participatory live streams.
The partnership will allow users to create their own virtual self from a single selfie within OZ. The Ready Player Me technology predicts realistic face shapes from a single 2D photo and builds an avatar using a proprietary database of 20,000 realistic face scans, all captured with professional 3D scanners. This will give OZ users an easy way to create highly personalized avatars, in addition to being able to sign in with their Snap Bitmoji.
Named on Fast Company’s annual list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2021, OZ puts participatory live streaming into the hands of creators.
Gudjon Gudjonsson, OZ Founder and CEO: “In today's world, most streams limit interactions between the creators and audience to a text box or reaction icons in a limited area of the video screen. With OZ, live streams are two-way, interactive experiences, where the audience can jump in, rather than lean back. We offer the audience a way of entering the experience as participants, including appearing within the broadcast as their very own personalized avatar figure of their choosing.”
“With our integration with Ready Player Me, users will be able to create avatars quickly and simply by using just a selfie. By adding additional avatars to choose from in the OZ app, our users benefit from more choice, and more freedom to customize and express themselves.”
At the start of the year the company hosted the world’s largest fully virtual New Year’s Eve party which saw attendees transform themselves into 3D avatars as they danced the night away to the music of Sigur Rós and Kaleo. [x]
Ready Player Me is one of the premier 3D personal avatar creators in the world. Its cross-game avatar platform for the metaverse is the avatar builder of choice on virtual reality social platform VRChat, in addition to over 450+ games and apps currently using the platform.
Timmu Toke, CEO & Founder of Ready Player Me: “We are excited to bring Ready Player Me avatars to the OZ platform. The integration will enable creators to create their personal avatars with a selfie and use it to share engaging and interactive content for their audiences. The avatars will be also compatible with the Ready Player Me platform, making them available in over 450 apps and games.”
OZ enables creators and their communities to experience participatory live streaming. Creators launch experiences and their audience is engaged in a shared live stream via any connected, video-capable device or streaming platform. Any participant can influence and participate with the stream in real-time, in a one-to-many broadcast, full of life and interactivity. Find out more by visiting oz.com.
